Aged care services for at home

Aged care services for at home care are designed to support older individuals in maintaining their independence and quality of life.

The levels of support available in aged care include:

Home Care Packages (HCP)

There are four levels of support offered by Aged Care Australia.:

All elderly Australians can apply for a HCP regardless of income or assets. The package will not vary however if you are a self funded retiree, then there is a co-payment that is required. It is important that you feel you need help that you do not delay in this process as there can very long wait times from the when you make the call to Aged Care Australia and actually receiving your package.

As at March 2025: the package values were as follows:

Home Care Package Level
Annual Government Subsidy (approx.)
Level 1 (Basic Care)
Level 2 (Low Care)
$18,063 per year
Level 3 (Intermediate Care)
$39,310 per year
Level 4 (High Care)
$59,593 per year

The answer is no, as the money is paid from the government to a provider, who in turn pays companies such as ourselves for the care you receive. The provider will take a percentage of your package as an administration charge for doing this work.
If you are in any doubt, contact us on telephone number 0409 09 2655 and we can help point you in the direction of a provider that provides good value such as not for profit organisation so you can get the best value out of your package.

As mentioned above all Australians are able to apply for aged care packages but if you are for instance a self funded retiree then there is a co-pay. On the lower level package, it may be arguable if there is much benefit, however as one requires higher level packages, it definitely pays to be in the system.

The fees below are NOT charged by us. These are the fees the government allows providers to charge for handing the package:

Depending on your financial situation, you may need to contribute to your Home Care Package costs through the following fees

A. Basic Daily Fee (Optional)

THIS IS NOT FEE CHARGED BY COMPLETE CARING BUT BY SOME PROVIDERS

B. Income-Tested Care Fee (Means-Tested)

THIS IS NOT FEE CHARGED BY COMPLETE CARING BUT BY SOME PROVIDERS

Note: Full pensioners do not pay the income-tested care fee.

This can all be very confusing for someone who is new to the world of aged care and government funding. The easiest thing to do is give us a call and we can explain it to you in a few minutes and then help get you the care you or your loved ones need.
